| Deposit | ULEXITE OCCURS AS BARS OR BENCHES OF HARD ULEXITE AND AS NODULES. A 0.3 M THICK CRUST ON THE WESTERN BORDER OF THE SALAR CONTAINS ULEXITE NODULES 10-40 CM IN DIAMETER. IN PLACES, ULEXITE FORMS UP TO 70% OF THE CRUST. THE MINERALIZED AREA IS ELONGATE N-S. A BED OF TRAVERTINE UNDERLIES THE ULEXITE. TYPICAL VERTICAL SECTION AT PORVENIR: BLANKET OF ULEXITE UP TO 1 M THICK IS FOLLOWED BY A BED OF TRAVERTINE. |
