  • WORKINGS AS OF 1922 DESCRIBED AS 60 TUNNELS UP TO 490 M LONG WITH A TOTAL OF 26,000 M WORKINGS TO 610 M DEPTH IN BOTH MINE GROUPS. ACCORDING TO SUGAKI AND OTHERS (1985) MINE IS DEVELOPED FROM +45 M TO -167 M LEVELS.

  • ECON.YEAR: 1980 ; ECON.COM: THE ONLY MINE IN BOLIVIA WHICH PRODUCED STANNITE CONCENTRATES. TWO MILLS, MILLUNI AND UNION. EACH HAD A CAPCITY OF 70 TPD IN 1922 AND 100 TPD IN 1930. IN 1979 WAS MILLING BY GRAVITY AND FLOATATION 8500 MT/MO ORE CONTAINING 0.85 TO 0.90% SN, YIELDING 150 MT/MO CONCENTRATES CONTAINING 50% SN. ; MILL.CAP : 2400

Deposit ERRATIC CASSITERITE-STANNITE MINERALIZATION IN PEGMATITE VEINS 1 TO 3 M WIDE WITH QUARTZ CORES, OUTER PEGMATITE ZONE, AND GREISEN SELVAGES OF TOURMALINE, ANDALUSITE, AND GARNET. TIN ALSO FOUND IN QUARTZ-MUSCOVITE-STANNITE-HUEBNERITE VEINS THAT LACK PEGMATITE MINERALS SUCH AS FELDSPAR AND LITHIUM PHOSPHATES. MAIN VEIN IS THE ROTHSCHILD VEIN (N10E-N10W 60-65NE/SE), 1500 M LONG, 50 TO 150 CM WIDE, AND OPENED TO 170 M DEPTH.
