  • E SIDE OF MAJOR ALTERATION SILICIFICATION OF DISTRICT. SHEAR ZONE APPEARS TO TREND SW THRU CURTZ & GEORGIANA MINES, & THEN SE ALONG S SIDE OF MONITOR CANYON NEAR ZACA MILL. MINE DUMP HAS WHITE SILICFIED ROCK THAT CONTAINS MOSTLY FINE - TO - MEDIUM GRAINED MINERALS. SILICFIED HILL TOP STANDS OUT FROM SURROUNDING UNALTERED ANDESITE. IN PLACES THE SILICFIED ROCK IS IRON OXIDE STAINED.

  • SOME ORE WAS SHIPPED AS FAR AS SWANSEA, WALES FOR SMELTING. MINE PRODUCED FAIRLY STEADILY 1863 - 1904 ON FAIRLY LARGE SCALE. IN 1951 , 1952 & 1957 MINOR EXPLORATION WAS DONE.

MAIN ADIT, SHAFT OPEN IN 1971 . WORKINGS OF GEORGIANA & CURTZ WERE FOR A TIME DRIVEN FOR ORE BODIES IN SAME ZONE.
