General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit Corrected name, commodity, and reference information. Northern extent begins 2 mi. east of Afton at Swift Creek Road. Continues SSE about 8 mi to Cottonwood Creek Road. Because this is a Vanadium "prospect" found in a phosphate-rich zone, the phosphate is also listed as a commodity, however there are many more specific records for phosphate in this area. Other metals are found in this zone, but in trace quantities.
General This "deposit" covers a fairly large area. It is not a single mine site. It is really just a geochemical anomaly. There is a vanadiferous zone in the Phosphoria Fm. extending about 8 miles from Swift Creek Road (going east out of Afton) south to the Cottonwood Creek Road.
