Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = The prospect is in the Lower Paleozoic or possibly Upper Precambrian Birch Creek Schist, comprising quartz-sericite schist, quartzite, and a few interbeds of massive marble (Wilson and others, 1998). Locally, Lower Tertiary and Upper Cretaceous granites intrude the metasedimentary rocks. The deposit consists of quartz veins containing stibnite and minor galena and sphalerite. No gold and silver has been reported (Cobb, 1978: OFR 78-1062).
  • Age = Probably Late Cretaceous or younger.
