General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit ORE IS MOSTLY SOFT, RED HEMATITE WITH IMPORTANT QUANTITIES OF HARD BLUE SPECULAR HEMATITE. SOFT BLACK ORE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH SEAMS OF CLAY. THE BLUE SPECULAR ORE IS COARSE-GRAINED AND EXHIBITS MANY SULFIDE PSEUDOMORPHS. CARBONATE OF COPPER OCCURS IN THE ORE NEAR THE BOTTOM AND MARGINS OF THE ORE BODY. BOULDERS OF MARCASITE OCCUR LOCALLY IN THE BOTTOM OF THE MINE AND GENERALLY ARE COARSE-GRAINED LIKE THAT OF THE BLUE SPECULAR ORE.
