General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit DEPOSITS OCCUR AS NARROW STRINGERS IN SANDSTONE BEDS UNDERLYING A BASALT FLOW. THE STRINGERS RANGE FROM A FRACTION OF AN INCH TO SEVERAL INCHES IN WIDTH AND ARE SEPARATED BY ONE TO SEVERAL FEET OF BARREN SANDSTONE. THE STRINGERS ARE MOST ABUNDANT NEAR THE BASALT-SANDSTONE CONTACT AND GRADUALLY DISAPPEAR ABOUT 50 FEET BELOW THE BASALT.
