FOOTHILLS VEIN IS CURVED COMPOUND FRACTURE ZONE CONSISTING OF TWO OR MORE ANASTAMOSING SUBPARALLEL FISSURES, SUGGESTING RIGHT LATERAL MOVEMENT. SHARPLY DEFINED AND SLICKENSIDED WALLS ENCLOSE QUARTZ-CEMENTED BRECCIA IN CARBONATE MATRIX IN HANGING WALL. FIRST STAGE OF MINERALIZATION INCLUDED ANKERITE (?), PYRITE, K-FELDSPAR, CHLORITE, AND PITCHBLENDE FOLLOWED BY BRECCIATION. SECOND STAGE INCLUDED COARSE CALCITE, PURPLE FLUORITE, AND SULFIDES WITH SOME PITCHBLENDE AND K-FELDSPAR REPLACED BY CALCITE (?).
