Deposit DISTRICT LIES DUE WEST OF GREEN MOUNTAIN DISTRICT. COUNTRY ROCK CONSISTS OF METASEDIMENTARY ROCKS (SCHIST, GNEISS, AND MIGMATITE) CONTAINING LAYERS, LENSES, AND OCCASIONALLY THICK SILLS AND DIKES OF AMPHIBOLITE (METAMORPHOSED GABBRO, BASALT, OR ANDESITE). SEQUENCE IS INTRUDED BY GOLD BASIN QUARTZ DIORITE STOCK, AND QUARTZ VEINS PROBABLY RELATED TO STOCK CUT DIORITE AND METASEDIMENTS. TREND OF STOCK LIES ALONG NNW-PLUNGING ANTICLINE. EAST-WEST-TRENDING CAMBRO-ORDOVICIAN DIABASE DIKE CUTS ACROSS QUARTZ DIORITE, METASEDIMENTS, AND AXIS OF ANTICLINE. NO DESCRIPTION OF TYPE OF MINERALIZATION HERE IS AVAILABLE, BUT IT IS BELIEVED TO BE POSTMETAMORPHIC, EPIGENETIC VEIN SIMILAR TO THOSE IN GREEN MOUNTAIN DISTRICT TO EAST. THERE, VEINS CONSIST OF QUARTZ-PYRITE+/-SERICITE+/-TOURMALINE+/-CALCITE+/-FLUORITE. DEPOSITS ARE SPATIALLY AND PROBABLY GENETICALLY RELATED TO GOLD BASIN STOCK.
Deposit BECAUSE DISTRICT COMPRISES ONLY ONE PATENTED CLAIM, FOR WHICH NO DETAILED DESCRIPTION IS AVAILABLE AND FROM WHICH NO PRODUCTION WAS RECORDED, NO INDIVIDUAL RECORD WAS PREPARED. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
