| Deposit | THE URANIUM OCCURS WITH COPPER MINERALIZATION IN THE LOWER PART OF THE SANGRE DE CRISTO FORMATION. THE URANIUM-VANADIUM ORE-GRADE DEPOSITS ARE SMALL, CLOSELY SPACED POCKETS ASSOCIATED WITH CARBONIZED WOOD AND HEMATITE IN THE PINK, FLUVATILE SANDSTONE UNIT. MOST OF THESE POCKETS ARE LESS THAN 2 FEET THICK AND 10 FEET LONG. URANIUM ALSO OCCURS IN SAMLL AMOUNTS WITH COPPER IN THE TRANSITIONAL BEDS AND UPPER PART OF THE RED BASAL ARKOSE, AND IN GRAY SHALE BELOW THE COPPER DEPOSITS IN THE BASAL RED ARKOSE. |
