  • TWO STAGES OF MINERALIZATION: FINE GRAINED QUARTZ AND PYRITE WERE FORMED DURING THE FIRST STAGE; THE ROCK WAS THEN FRACTURED AND THE FRACTURES WERE HEALED, LARGELY BY VERY FINE GRAINED QUARTZ, BARITE AND SULFIDES. LATITE HAS A CELLULAR STRUCTURE RESULTING FROM LEACHING AND REPLACEMENT OF FELOSPAR PHENOCRYSTS.
