Comments on the location information

  • 2.5 MILES NE OF GLEN. NORTH 1/2, SECTION 18
  • Original political location in record was Beaverhead county. However, lat/long, PLSS, and verbal descripton 2.5 MILES NE OF GLEN, all agree with Madison county. MRDS lists 8 mines in the McCartney Mountain District, all but this one are said to be in Madison county. County might have been assigned incorrectly due to the town of Glen in the description, which is in Beaverhead county. So county name was changed to Madison.
