  • IN 1873, THERE WAS A SHAFT 40 FEET DEEP AND DRIFTS 40 FEET LONG. IN 1880 THERE WERE 2 SHAFTS, 200 FEET NORTH OF THE OLDER OPENING AND 100 FEET APART AND 900 FEET DEEP. TODAY THERE ARE SEVERAL SHAFTS AND PITS EITHER WATER- OR GARBAGE-FILLED.
