Comments on the location information

  • LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE GIVEN ABOVE ARE FOR LOC. A. SHAFT NO. 1 (LOC. A) SHOULD BE ABOUT 250 FT W. OF SHAFT NO. 2 (LOC. B), IN RAVINE, IN DIALLAGE GABBRO, IN LUGERT GRANITE PORPHYRY. THIS WAS DUG IN 1905. POSSIBLY PYRITE AND OTHER MINERALS WERE FOUND HERE. RYAN (1936) LOCATES 4 PROSPECT PITS IN THE NE OF SEC. 6 AND DISCUSSES EACH. THESE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN GABBRO AND DUG FROM 1905-1910. PROBABLY RYAN'S LOCATIONS WERE NOT ACCURATE. HALE (1981B) QUOTES RYAN. RYAN FOUND NOTHING OF VALUE.

Comments on the geologic information

  • THE REFORMATORY GRANITE INTRUSIVE STOPED A GABBRO XENOLITH, AND THE LUGERT GRANITE INTRUSIVE INTRUDED LATER, WITH POSSIBLE HYDROTHERMAL VEINS BEING FORMED CARRYING METALS. POLK (1948) AND MERRITT (1958) DISCUSS THE GEOLOGY.
