  • LAT. AND LONG. GIVEN ABOVE ARE ON SITE IN SEC. 24. R.P. FISCHER (1937) HAS A LOCAL DIAGRAM ON P. 914 SHOWING 8 PROSPECT HOLES AND 2 SHAFTS (ABOUT 40 FT DEEP). THE SHAFTS ARE ABOUT 150-200 FT S. OF THE CREEK. THE DEVELOPMENTS WERE DONE BEFORE 1935 BY THE PAWNEE MINING AND MILLING CO. H.M. MCQUEEN AND E.R. COCHRAN OF KANSAS CITY, MO., SENT SAMPLES TO OGS ABOUT JULY 18, 1940; MENTIONED BY DOTT AND MERRITT (1940) ON OGS SHEET 206 BY NELSON AND BENNETT (1936). THE SAMPLES, FROM SEC. 24, SHOWED 3.78 TO 17.07% CU. MENTIONED BY BRANSON, BURWELL, AND CHASE (1955, P. 13).
