Comments on the location information

  • BLOCK 44, HOUSTON AND TEXAS CENTRAL RAILROAD CO. SURVEY. THE HEADWATERS OF RAGGEDY CREEK OCCUR ON BOTH SIDES OF THE HILL, AND THE COPPER COULD OCCUR ANY PLACE WITHIN A MILE OF THE HILL, AT EL. 1,560-1,620 FT, PROBABLY ALL BELOW THE KISER GYPSUM MEMBER OF THE FLOWERPOT SHALE. CUMMINS (1891, PL. 18) SHOWS TWO LOCALITIES SW OF MARGARET. PROBABLY THE SOUTHERN ONE REPRESENTS THIS AREA. CUMMINS SHOWS IT ON THE S. SIDE OF RAGGEDY CREEK, BUT THIS COULD BE ON THE S. SIDE OF A WEST BRANCH, WHICH WOULD BE CLOSE TO THIS HILL. (THE LOCALITY SHOWN W. OF MARGARET WAS PROBABLY THE MCCLELLAN MINE, BUT IT WAS PLACED SE OF CANAL CREEK INSTEAD OF W. OF CANAL CREEK.)
