Comments on the location information

  • BUFFALO, BAYOO, BRAZOS, AND COLORADO RAILROAD CO. SURVEY. RICHARD (1915, P. 641-642) MENTIONED THAT SYSTEMATIC DRILLING SHOWED COPPER OCCURRENCES OVER 2000 FT OR MORE OVER AN AREA SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET WIDE DOWN TO 20 FT DEEP. CHALCOCITE OCCURS IN FOSSIL WOOD, WITH MUCH AZURITE AND MALACHITE BEING PRESENT IN A 2-4 FT BED, WITH AVERAGE COPPER CONTENT OF 4.06%. HALE (1977, P. 229, 271, 337) QUOTED ACKER (1939, P. 47) THAT, IN 1920, A CARLOAD OF COPPER ORE WAS SHIPPED FROM THE PYRON MINE NEAR STAMFORD, JONES CO., BUT HAD LITTLE TO NO VALUE WHEN SMELTED. SCHOCH (1918, P. 164, 251).
