THIS IS SITE 86 OF STROUD AND OTHERS (1970, P. 39) AND SMITH (1974, P. 59-60, 68-69), LOCALITIES 1 AND 39, WHERE MALACHITE OCCURS IN THE BASAL 7-10 INCHES OF THE SAN ANGELO SANDSTONE AND SHALE, AND WHERE SMITH MEASURED 56-59 FT OF SAN ANGELO. TO NW ABOUT 0.6 MI WAS CORE HOLE C-12B (EL. 1575 FT; TD, 87.5 FT; TOP SAN ANGELO AT 23 FT DEEP), ABOUT 300 FT NE OF ROAD ON B.B. HENDRIX RANCH (ROUTE 1, BOX 147, KNOX CITY, TX 79529), WHERE STROUD AND OTHERS (1970, P. 78) AND GALLOWAY (1970, P. 51) GIVE LOCATION AND SECTION. COPPER WAS NOT FOUND IN THE CORE.
