Deposit BUCKLEY (1874, P. 40) IS REFERENCE. A 4-INCH COPPER SHALE IN SANDSTONE WAS FOUND AT THE SPRING IN A CREEK BANK, 1 MI S. OF MR. PEVLER'S HOUSE, AND IN SEAMS IN SANDSTONE, 0.5 MI N. OF HIS HOUSE IN SW MONTAGUE COUNTY. MR. PEVLER OWNS THE LAND. HE WORKED FOR 6 MONTHS IN THE ARCHER COUNTY MINES. THE COPPER WAS IN MALACHITE, CHRYSOCOLLA, AND CUPRITE. CONCRETIONS ALSO OCCUR WITH COPPER MINERALS. THE HILLS HAVE A JAGGED APPEARANCE WHERE THE COPPER MINERALS WERE FOUND.
