ON UNIMPROVED ROAD, STAYING TO RIGHT AT SEVERAL FORKS, AND GO ABOUT 3 MI TO WHERE ROAD TURNS E. ON SW SIDE OF ROAD. NEAR TURN IS WHERE CORE HOLE C-15 WAS DRILLED IN DEC. 1968, AT ELEVATION 1535 FT, TO 59 FT DEEP. A GREEN SHALE AT 48.5-50.8 FT ASSAYED AT 0.1-0.28% CU. THE WELL SPUDDED IN THE LOWER FLOWERPOT SHALE AND ENCOUNTERED THE TOP OF THE SAN ANGELO SANDSTONE AT 29 FT DEEP (EL. 1506 FT). GALLOWAY (1970, P. 54, FIGS. 3, 6) PLACED THE COPPER-SHALE IN THE UPPER CHOZA. STROUD AND OTHERS (1970, P. 18-19, 27-28) AND SMITH (1974, P. 66, PL. IV, LOC. 28) PLACED THE COPPER-SHALE IN THE LOWER SAN ANGELO FORMATION, ZONE C, OR BUZZARD PEAK MEMBER.
