Comments on the location information

  • THE WATER LEVEL IS SHOWN TO BE CLOSE TO 1910 FT, WITH MARSHLAND UP TO 1935 FT, SO IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS AREA COULD BE UNDERWATER. SOME HILLS TO THE W. AND NW, ABOUT 0.75-2 MI, MIGHT HAVE SOME OUTCROPS. THESE WOULD ALL PROBABLY BE IN THE FLOWERPOT SHALE AND NOT THE BLAINE FORMATION.

Deposit I COULD NOT FIND THE ORIGINAL REFERENCE TO THE COPPER DISCOVERY.
Deposit UDDEN, BAKER, AND BOSE (1916, P. 121) IS REFERENCE. CUMMINS (1892, P. 137) AND HENDERSON (1928, P. 10, 23, 65, PL. IV, FIG. 1) DESCRIBE A 1-FT DOLOMITE ON A SANDSTONE ON THE N. CONCHO RIVER, 1 MI SW OF TURNERDALE SIDING, WHERE A SMALL QUARRY WAS OPENED FOR CRUSHING DOLOMITE FOR ROAD METAL. CUMMINS AND HENDERSON BOTH DID NOT MENTION THE COPPER.
