General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit WELL-CRYSTALLIZED CELESTITE OCCURS IN LAYERS 1.5-4.5 M THICK (AVE. 3 M); THIN LAYERS (UP TO SEVERAL CM THICK) OF BROWNISH CALCITE AND CLAY MAY OCCUR WITHIN THE CELESTITE. HARBEN AND BATES DESCRIBE A STRONTIUM SEAM AVERAGING 7 TO 8 FT THICK WITH A STRIKE LENGTH OF 2.5 MILES. THE DEPOSIT SHOWS DISTINCT SEDIMENTARY FEATURES AND IS UNDISTURBED EXCEPT FOR SOME STEP-FAULTING IN THE SOUTHWESTERN PART OF THE DEPOSIT.
