MINERAL RESOURCE CATEGORIES AND CODES HEREIN ARE FROM THE INTERNATIONAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM RECOMMENDED BY THE UNITED NATIONS GROUP OF EXPERTS ON DEFINITIONS AND TERMINOLOGY FOR MINERAL RESOURCES. (SEE NATIONAL RESOURCES FORUM, V. 4, NO. 3, P. 307-313.). SURFACE REFINED. FLACONBRIDGE DOMINICANA MINE AND SMELTER STARTED OPERATIONS MAY 1972 AT DESIGN CAPACITY 29,000 M.T.P.Y. OF NICKEL. DEPOSITS ARE ON A 300 SQUARE MILE AREA NEAR BONAO. ORE RESERVES SHOULD LAST 20+ YEARS. FERRONICKEL PRODUCED 1974 WAS 80,000 TONNES, WITH NICKEL CONTENT OF SOME 30,000 TONNES.
