  • USBM DRILLED 3 HOLES TOTALING 455 FEET DURING 1947, WITH NEGLIGIBLE RESULTS. PREVIOUS EXPLORATION CONSISTED OF 6 SMALL PITS, AND SOME PROSPECTING ON THE J. F. LYNCH FARM ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE RAVINE.

Deposit 180 FT. BELOW BASE OF CHEPULTEPEC DOLOMITE. THE 6 PITS WERE DUG IN CHERTY RESIDUUM. THE CUT ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE RAVINE (L 110) EXPOSES "MASSIVE KNOTTY LIGHT-GRAY DOLOMITE" CONTAINING DISSEMINATED GALENA AND TRACE SPHALERITE. APPARENTLY SAME BED AS THAT MINERALIZED AT F. M. DAY AND W. P. DAY PROSPECTS ELSEWHERE IN DISTRICT (BROKAW). ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
