Comments on the reserve resource information

  • A FEW REPLACEMENT MASSES OF BARITE WERE NOTED IN THE BEDROCK, BUT THERE ARE NOT SUFFICIENT CONCENTRATIONS OF BARITE TO WARRANT FUTURE DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE BARITE IN THE DUMP COULD BE PROFITABLY RECOVERED BY HAND METHODS.

Comments on the workings information

  • WORKINGS CONSIST OF AN OPEN CUT ABOUT 30.5 M (100 FT) LONG, 15 M (50 FT) WIDE, AND 9 M (30 FT) DEEP, AND SEVERAL SMALLER OPENINGS 91.5 M (300 FT) TO THE NORTHEAST. NEAR THE NORTHEASTERN END OF THE LARGE OPEN CUT IS A DEEP SHAFT, NOW WATER-FILLED. THE DUMP, 30.5 M (100 FT) LONG, 6 M (20 FT) WIDE, AND 2.4 M (8 FT) HIGH, IS COMPOSED OF IRREGULAR FRAGMENTS OF DOLOMITE CONTAINING THIN VEINS AND REPLACEMENT MASSES OF BARITE. IT IS ESTIMATED THAT AT LEAST 20 PERCENT OF THE DUMP MATERIAL IS BARITE.

Deposit BARITE OCCURS AS VEINS AND REPLACEMENT MASSES IN DOLOMITE. THE SOUTHEAST WALL OF THE OPEN CUT IS A FINE GRAINED DOLOMITE STRIKING N70DEGE AND DIPPING 30DEGSE. SOME CLEAVAGE FRAGMENTS OF BARITE ARE 3 IN (76 MM) WIDE AND ARRANGED RADIALLY IN THE FORM OF A ROSETTE.
