Comments on the geologic information

  • IN THE MIDDLE OPEN CUT, A HALF-INCH BORDER ZONE OF PLAGIOCLASE-QUARTZ PEGMATITE WITH ACCESSORY BIOTITE ENCLOSES A 1-FOOT WALL ZONE OF MEDIUM-GRAINED PLAGIOCLASE-QUARTZ PEGMATITE, WHICH GRADES IN TURN INTO A INTERMEDIATE ZONE OF PLAGIOCLASE-QUARTZ-PERTHITE PEGMATITE. THE CORE CONSISTS OF COARSE PERTHITE-QUARTZ PEGMATITE WITH ACCESSORY BIOTITE, THE WHOLE BEING VERY DECOMPOSED. THE TWO PEGMATITES IN THE ADIT IN THE LOWER WORKING CONSIST ENTIRELY OF COARSE TO VERY COARSE PERTHITE AND PLAGIOCLASE, THE LATTER OF WHICH IS COMPLETELY KAOLINIZED. BIOTITE AND MUSCOVITE ARE ALSO PRESENT. QUARTZ IS NOTICEABLY ABSENT.
