THE GASSAWAY MEMBER CONTAINS THE MOST URANIUM IN THE FORMATION, AND THE UPPER UNIT IS THE RICHEST. THE CHATTANOOGA SHALE IS CONSIDERED AS A LOW-GRADE OIL SHALE.

  • THE SECTION IS INCOMPLETELY EXPOSED, WITH THE INTERVAL SAMPLED ONLY 30.25 FEET THICK. THE GASSAWAY IS AT LEAST 15.95 FEET THICK, THE TOP OF WHICH IS UNEXPOSED.

  • THIS EXPOSURE WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF AN INVESTIGATION CONDUCTED UNDER CONTRACT NO. AT-(40-1)-1337 BETWEEN THE U.S. ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION AND THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE.
