  • MINE WAS FIRST OPERATED AS AN OPEN QUARRY. LATER A SHALLOW SHAFT WAS SUNK. A SERIES OF OPEN TRENCHES REMAINS, THE LARGEST OF WHICH IS 200 FT. LONG, 25 FT. WIDE AND 25 FT. DEEP.
