Comments on the geologic information

  • PROSPECTING WAS CARRIED OUT IN A QUARTZ VEIN ENCLOSED BY A GRAY-GREEN TO BLACK, PORPHYRITIC RHYOLITE. THE QUARTZ IS FRACTURED AND HEALED WITH SILICA AND CONTAINS PYRITE ALTERING TO LIMONITE IN THE FRACTURES. PYRITE AND CHALCOPYRITE AFTER PYRITE ARE ALSO IN THE FRACTURES. THE RHYOLITE IS FRACTURED, AND THE PHENOCRYSTS, NOW ALTERED, WERE PROBABLY ORTHOCLASE. MINOR FELSIC TUFFS ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THE RHYOLITE.
