  • THE CHEPULTEPEC DOLOMITE WAS DIVIDED INTO TWO MEMBERS. THE UPPER DOLOMITE MEMBER IS COMPOSED OF MEDIUM TO DARK-GREY FINE-GRAINED LIMESTONES AND DARK-GREY CRYSTALLINE DOLOMITES. THE LOWER SANDY MEMBER CONTAINS THE SAME LITHOLOGIES, WITH THE ADDITION OF NUMEROUS THIN SANDSTONE BEDS. BLACK CHERT BEDS AND NODULES (SOME OOLITIC) ARE COMMON IN BOTH MEMBERS.
