  • THE HEMATITE RANGES IN COLOR FROM BLACK TO ORANGE, BUT IS COMMONLY DEEP BRICK RED; IT RANGES IN FIRMNESS FROM PULVERULENT TO COMPACT; THE COMPACT MATERIAL IS THE MOST COMMON. THE HEMATITE IS MASSIVE AND IN PLACES APPEARS TO HAVE DIRECTLY REPLACED THE LIMESTONE BRECCIA
