  • GEOL.DESC: MARIPOSA SLATE BEDROCK IS SOMEWHAT SMOOTH AND MOST OF THE GOLD IS FOUND IN THE CEMENTED GRAVEL.ONE FOOT OF BEDROCK AND 10' OF GRAVEL ARE MINED AND MILLED; PRESENT PAY GRAVEL IS 20' WIDE. GRAVEL IS WELL ROUNDED AND CONSISTS OF QUARTZ, SLATE, YELLOW BOULDERS, AND WHITE GRANITE. GOLD OF MEDIUM SIZE, WITH A TRACE OF SILVER (882.5 FINE) IS BEING PRODUCED. 210' INCLINED SHAFT WITH DRIFTS ON THE 174' LEVEL.
