  • ORIGINALLY WORKED IN 1850'S. ACTIVE 1870-1907. DURING 1930'S SOME PROSPECTING DONE. IN 1953-54 SOME OF WORKINGS WERE REHABILITATED. EARLY IN 1955 PRESENT LESSEE LEASED THE MINE AND HAS BEEN MINING SOME HIGH GRADE ORE FROM SMALL POCKETS IN THE VEIN. MUCH OF RECENT OUTPUT HAS BEEN SPECIMEN MATERIAL.

  • OPEN CUTS AND SHALLOW SHAFTS FOR ABOUT 2,000 FT. ALONG THE STRIKE. PRESENT WORK IN 70-FT. CROSSCUT ADIT AND SEVERAL NEARBY OPEN CUTS IN CENTRAL PORTION OF DEPOSIT.

Deposit NEAR THE SURFACE THE GOLD IS CHIEFLY IN SMALL BUT RICH ORE SHOOTS WITH LITTLE OR NO SULFIDES. SULFIDES INCREASED AT DEPTH. CHALCOPYRITE AND SPHALERITE MOST COMMON; PYRITE AND GALENA PRESENT IN SMALLER AMOUNTS. CLAIM CONTAINS 18.42 ACRES.
