  • GEOL.DESC: ONE OF A SYSTEM OF FISSURES IN THE DIABASE OF E SLOPE OF THE MOUNTAIN. THE VEIN RESEMBLES CHARACTER OF THE SIROCCO (YELLOWSTONE) IN SEC. 19. IT OCCURS IN SLATY DIABASE, MUCH SPLIT UP, THE QUARTZ INCLOSING MASSES OF THE COUNTRY ROCK, USUALLY ALTERED TO CHLORITIC SCHIST. ON THESE PORTIONS OF THE VEIN THE GOLD OCCURS IN "POCKETS", RANGING FROM A FEW DOLLARS TO MORE THAN $500 (OLD PRICE OF GOLD).
