  • GEOL.DESC: MANGANESE ORE OCCURS IN A BLOCK OF META CHERT IN FRANCISCAN GREENSTONE. THE CHERT IS MASSIVE AND HAS TAKEN ON BRILLIANT VERMILLION AND ORANGE COLORS. IN PLACES A SPHERULITIC STRUCTURE HAS DEVELOPED MANGANESE OXIDE VEINLETS CUT CHERT, AND SOME SMALL POCKETS OF SILICEOUS ORE ARE PRESENT.
