  • GEOL.DESC: PUMICE OCCURS IN LAYERS WHICH DO NOT CROP OUT BUT ARE WELL EXPOSED IN BULLDOZER CUTS, TEST PITS, AND EXTENSIVE MINING OPERATIONS. LAYERS ARE FROM 5-20' THICK, STRIKE N. 10-20 DEG. E., DIP FROM 5-7 DEG. SE, AND ARE OVERLAIN BY A LOOSE PUMICEOUS SOIL 1-4' THICK. PUMICE IS WHITE AND IN ANGULAR FRAGMENTS RANGING FROM DUST-LIKE PARTICLES TO 3" IN DIAM.
