Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: THE INTERVOLCANIC AMERICAN RIVER FLOWED THROUGH THIS PROPERTY, DEPOSITING GRAVEL OF TWO DIFFERENT PERIODS. EARLIER CHANNEL WAS CONSIDERABLY ERODED SO THAT ONLY REMANTS IN THE FORM OF BENCHES REMAIN. SEVERAL OF THESE BENCH DEPOSITS, OF WHICH THE LARGER WERE 150, 175 AND 325 FT. LONG, WERE WORKED BT. 1900 AND 1906. PRINCIPAL PAY CAME FROM THE EARLIER CHANNELS. THE CHANNELS WERE COVERED WITH ANDESITE AND THE PAY GRAVEL WAS CEMENTED.
