  • THE DEPOSIT IS A PARTIALLY REWORKED TERMINAL MORAINE OF THE PLEISTOCENE NORTH FORK GLACIER. PARDEE AND HEWITT (1916) SUGGEST THAT GLACIER HAD DISRUPTED AN OLDER PLACER DEPOSIT WHICH WAS IN PART DERIVED FROM THE REWORKING OF YET OLDER BENCH GRAVELS AT CRANE FLATS AND TROUT MEADOWS. ; GEOL.DESC: GRAVEL BED IS COMPACT UNASSORTED MASS OF SANDY CLAY AND ROUNDED TO ANGULAR COBBLES AND BOULDERS; COVERS ONE SQUARE MILE, IN PLACES 60 FT. DEEP, DEPOSIT IS TERMINAL PORTION OF OLD DRIFT. LAYED DOWN BY NORTH FORK GLACIER.
