Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: ORE IS MIXTURE OF BLACK MANGANESE OXIDES AND SILICA IN VARYING PROPORTIONS. A 3.5 FT. LAYER OF MANGANESE BEARING QUARTZITE STRIKES N 30 E AND DIPS 50 S. FOOT AND HANGING WALLS ARE QUARTZ MICA SCHIST. BETTER ORE OCCURS AS POCKETS IN MORE SILICEOUS MATERIAL. BANDED QUARTZ-RHODONITE-GARNET (SPESSARTITE) WAS FOUND A FEW FEET AT DEPTH IN UPPER WORKINGS.
