  • GEOL.DESC: MANGANIFEROUS BANDED QUARTZITE ENCLOSED IN QUARTZ MICE PELONA SCHIST OF PRE-CAMBRIAN AGE. THE QUARTZITE STRIKES E, DIPS 60 S, AND CONTAINS POCKETS AND LENSES OF PARTIALLY OXIDIZED PINK RHODONITE, SOMETIMES COATED WITH BLACK OXIDES. POCKETS AND LENSES A FEW INCHES TO 2 FT THICK CONTAIN PYROLUSITE, SOME PSILOMELANE, AND STAINED WITH IRON OXIDES QUARTZ VEINS CUT THE ORE BED.
