  • GEOL.DESC: SILICEOUS MANGANESE OXIDE ORE IS IN A THIN-BEDDED BROWN CHERT OUTCROP. THE 11 FT. THICK ORE BED STRIKES N 35 E AND DIPS 55 SE. THE ORE IN THIS CUT IS MANGANIFEROUS WHITE CHERT, WITH FILMS OF MANGANESE OXIDE ON JOINT AND BEDDING SURFACES, AND A FEW VEINS OF OXIDE. A FAULT CUTS THE ORE BED. A 6 FT. ORE BED IS ALSO EXPOSED.
