  • GEOL.DESC: RED, GREEN, AND BROWN CHERT BEDS DIP 45 N. W. AND ARE STAINED BY MANGANESE OXIDE. MOST CHERT IS THIN-BEDDED, EXCEPT FOR A 6 FT. BED OF MASSIVE RED CHERT. ON THE S. SIDE OF A HEAVY BED SOME SILICEOUS RED BROWN MANGANESE ORE OCCURS. LOOSE BLOCKS OF SILICEOUS BROWN OXIDE ORE CARRIED 48.6 PERCENT MANGANESE, 18.2 PERCENT SILICA.
