  • GEOL.DESC: MANGANESE ORE BED STRIKES N 20 E, DIPS ABOUT VERTICAL, WITH BANDED QUARTZITE WALL ROCKS, AND SLATE AND PHYLLITE EXPOSED NEARBY. ORE IS BANDED QUARTZ CARBONATE. GRAY CARBONATE LAYERS, OFTEN CONTORTED AND WITH AUGENS OF BROWN CARBONATE, ALTERNATE WITH QUARTZITE BANDS. SOME PALE YELLOW CARBONATE IS PRESENT. MOST OF ORE IS OXIDIZED TO THIN SURFACE FILMS, BUT LITTLE HIGH GRADE ORE IS PRESENT
