  • GEOL.DESC: 160 ACRES ARE UNDERLAIN BY PERIDOTITE, WHICH IS LOCALLY JOINTED AND ALTERED TO SERPENTINITE. LATERITE MANTLE, DEPTH SAID TO RANGE FROM A FEW FEET TO 21 FT., COVERS MUCH OF THE AREA. IT IS DEEP REDDISH-BROWN IN COLOR AND IN ONE SHALLOW TEST PIT SEVERAL NARROW VEINLETS OF PALE GREEN GARNIERITE WERE OBSERVED.
