  • SCHEELITE OCCURS AS CRYSTALS IN THE CALCITE VEINS, UP TO 14 INCHES WIDE, ALONG THE BEDDING. ALLUVIUM IN THE SHAFT AREA CONTAINS FRAGMENTS OF VEINS AND DISSEMINATED GRAINS AND NUGGETS OF PLACER SCHEELITE. HOST ROCKS OF DARK GREY TO BLACK LIMESTONE , SHALE, STRIKING S14E, DIP 34 NE.

  • TWO SHAFTS, ORE OF UNKNOWN LENGTH, ONE VERTICAL, THE OTHER INCLINED 50 DEG E (BOTH CAVED); SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET OF UNDERGROUND WORKINGS, SEVERAL PITS AND TRENCHES. EXTENSIVE BACKHOE TRENCHING AND SURFACE BULLDOZING DONE RECENTLY (REPORTED IN 1983).

  • 11 PATENTED LODE CLAIMS. THE EARLIEST REPORT OF PRODUCTION FROM THE DISTRICT WAS $20,000 WORTH OF SCHEELITE FROM THIS MINE IN 1918, FROM A SMALL STAMP MILL BUILT ON THE PROPERTY. IN 1941 A NEW 50 TPD CONCENTRATING PLANT WAS BUILT BY LEXINGTON MINES CO., AND SEVERAL THOUSAND TONS OF ORE WERE MILLED. SOME ADDITIONAL PRODUCTION WAS REPORTED IN 1968 AND 1976. IT WAS REPORTED IN 1983 THAT IT HAD BEEN RECENTLY ACTIVE.

Deposit CALCITE VEINS UP TO 14 IN WIDE ALONG BEDDING. SCHEELITE OCCURS AS CRYSTALS IN THE CALCITE. A BLOCK 600 FT X 100 FTX 15 FT DEEP PROBABLY CONTAINS PLACER SCHEELITE. NUMEROUS QUARTZ AND CALCITE VEINS WITH SMALL BLEBS OF SULFIDE MINERALS AND MINOR AZURITE STAINING.
