Deposit FRAGMENTS ALSO. EXPOSED WIDTH OF OUTCROP IS PROBABLY OVER 10 FT.
Deposit Discovery Year: 1981 (PRESENT CLAIMS)
Deposit 20 FT N OF SHAFT IS A PROMINENT RESISTANT RIB OF FINELY CRYSTALLINE PINKISH-WHITE QUARTZ VEIN AND QUARTZ-CEMENTED VOLCANIC BRECCIA. THE OUTCROP UNDERLIES THE E-W RIDGELINE, STRIKING N70W, DIPPING 55 SW. BELOW THE CREST OF THE RESISTANT OUTCROP, THE VEIN CARRIES BRECCIA FRAGMENTS OF ALTERED RHYOLITIC VOLCANIC ROCKS AND POSSIBLY ALSO SEDIMENTARY CONGLUMERATE. FRAGMENTS SEEM TO INCREASE WITH DEPTH (I.E. TOWARD LOWER CONTACT WITH VOLCANICS. IRON OXIDES ARE DEPOSITED ALONG BRECCIATED CRACKS, CREVICES AND VUGS IN THE VEIN MATERIAL. DRUSY QUARTZ LINES VUGS AND GHOSTS AFTER PYRITE ARE COMMON. SOME OF THE OUTCROP CONTAINS QUARTZ PHENOCRYSTS, SUGGESTING THAT THIS IS ACTUALLY AN APLITIC DIKE. VERY MINUTE SPECKS OF SULFIDES OR FE-MN OXIDES OCCUR IN MATRIX OF VEIN MATERIAL. SOME UNUSUAL BRIGHT RED OXIDES MAY BE AFTER HG MINERALS, OR POSSIBLY JUST HYDRATED FE. SOME CHALCEDONIC BANDING AND FINE BRECCIA ZONES CUT ACROSS OUTCROP. VERY FINE-GRAINED PYRITE (OXIDIZED) OCCURS IN THE PINK RHYOLITE BRECCIA
