Subject category Comment text
Deposit COCKADE AND DRUSY QUARTZ FORMS ENCRUSTATIONS AROUND ALTERED ROCK FRAGMENTS. WHITE QUARTZ AND SIDERITE VEIN ARE ALSO COMMON, BUT QUARTZ PREDOMINATES. QUARTZ AFTER CALCITE TEXTURES COMMON. PARTIALLY OXIDIZED PYRITE IS COMMON IN BOTH THE VEIN AND THE ALTERED FRAGMENTS. SOME OF THE ROCKS ARE IRON-STAINED AND/OR COATED WITH GREENISH (FE ?, AS ?, CL ? ) OXIDES. ALTHOUGH NO STRUCTURE IS VISIBLE AT THE SHAFT, THE ENTIRE HILLSIDE EAST OF THE MINE IS COVERED BY CRUSTIFIED FISSURE TO MASSIVE QUARTZ VEIN AND QUARTZ-CEMENTED ANDESITE BRECCIA.
