Comments on development

  • THE MINE WAS BEING REOPENED IN 1969. THE CURRENT (1985) PROPERTY INCLUDES CLAIMS UPSTREAM FROM DUTCH FLAT. IN 1984, MINERALIZATION WAS DISCOVERED BY PRELIMINARY MAPPING AND ROCK SAMPLING BY BRICAN. IN 1985, BOW VALLEY ENTERED INTO A JOINT VENTURE WITH BRICAN AND AGREED TO PROVIDE FINDING FOR A 30-HOLE DRILL PROGRAM. DETAILED GEOCHEMICAL, GEOLOGICAL, AND GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS COMPLETED BY BRICAN DELINEATED TWO ZONES IN THE CENTRAL CLAIM BLOCK IN WHICH OUTCROPS CONTAIN CONSISTENT GOLD AND SILVER VALUES. A 30-HOLE DRILLING PROGRAM WAS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN IN SEPT 1985.

Deposit EARLY HISTORY OF THE MINE IS UNKNOWN, EXCEPT THAT IT WAS DISCOVERED AND DEVELOPED AFTER THE DUTCH FLAT PLACER WAS DISCOVERED IN 1893. DUTCH FLAT MINING CO. WAS ORGANIZED BY E.R. ROGERS, E. HAZLETT, AND J.W. TUFT IN 1940, WHEN ORE WAS DEVELOPED AND MINED FROM UNDERGROUND WORKINGS. DEVELOPED ALSO BY SHALLOW OPEN-BULL DOZER CUTS. UNDERGROUND WORKINGS TOTAL ABOUT 700 FT. THE MINE WAS BEING REOPENED IN JUNE, 1969 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
Deposit MAIN MINERALIZATION AT NORTH END OF SHEAR ZONE; MINOR WORKINGS AT SOUTH END. THE MINERALIZATION APPEARS TO BE STRUCTURALLY CONTROLLED BY INTERESTING FAULT OR FRACTURE ZONES. THE LARGER EASTERN MINERALIZED ZONE IS 3600 FT LONG AND UP TO 800 FT WIDE. THE WESTERN ZONE IS 2200 FT LONG AND UP TO 400 FT WIDE.
