Comments on the geologic information

  • CONSIDERABLE GLACIAL DRIFT IS STREWN OVER THE SURFACE. OUTCROPS RANGE FROM A RUSTY QTZ-MICA SCHIST CONTAINING VEINLETS OF APLITE, PEGMATITE, AND QTZ TO A BANDED HORNSTONE, PORTIONS OF WHICH HAVE DISINTIGRATED TO GOSSAN-LIKE MASSES OF LIMONITE SHOWING THE STAIN OF MN OXIDES. THE SULFIDES AND MAGNETITE ARE INTERGROWN WITH THE SILICATES AND APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED WHEN THE ROCKS WERE METAMORPHOSED. ; GEOL.DESC: SED. ROCKS SURROUNDED, METAMORPHOSED BY GRANITE

Economic information about the deposit and operations

Development status Prospect
Commodity type Metallic
Deposit size Small
Significant No

Comments on the workings information

  • MAIN SHAFT AT LEAST 40 FT DEEP, FROM WHICH LEVELS ARE SAID TO HAVE BEEN RUN. THE SHAFT IS EQUIPPED WITH A "BABY" HOIST, AND THE SIZE OF THE DUMP WOULD INDICATE THAT PERHAPS 200 LINEAR FT OF UNDERGROUND WORK.

Comments on development

  • SHAFTS WITH LEVELS; BABY HOIST.
