  • AN INCLINED SHAFT EXPLORES ALTERED RHYOLITIC TUFF NEAR THE CONTACT WITH A DACITE PORPHYRY DIKE. THE TUFF IS BLEACHED AND SILICIFIED, AND SOME OF THE DUMP MATERIAL IS STAINED WITH IRON OXIDES. TWO SAMPLES OF ALTERED TUFF COLLECTED FROM THE DUMP CONTAINED 8.1 AND 1.79 PPM GOLD AND 100 PPM SILVER EACH. THE HIGHER GOLD VALUE WAS FOUND IN THE IRON-STAINED ROCK. (WILLDEN AND SPEED, P 75)
